Someone wrote on her blog about a “stupid pig with big ego and low competence” who misunderstood her writing and asked her some stupid questions publicly in an unfriendly, “I-am-right-you-are-wrong” tone. Obviously such a “pig” isn’t any near to being adorable. But it seems to me that this “someone” couldn’t remember that she did the same thing not long ago. Well, to herself, this can’t be considered as stupid or something; it’s only stupid if it’s done by others.
Seriously, when you and others have made the same mistake, do you think you are just careless while others are incompetent?
I am crapping here instead of commenting on her blog, because of my motto No. 1: Don’t argue.

We all tend to overlook our own faults. But I really don’t feel fond about anyone that will call people “pig” in their journal. No matter how mad you are, journals should remain some basic civility. At least I feel so. And name calling is shameful.

IMHO, private conversations can go wild and rude, but public writing is a different story. The reason is simple: wild and rude private conversations are between good friends, but not all readers of blogs share the same level of closeness.
