An Email from the Past

Posted in 生活 at 12:33 am by 老貓 ·

I was shocked when I received this email. I have completely forgotten it. And I could hardly recall what was happening that time that made me so depressed. Look back at the entry on that day, it seems that I did not sufficiently express my stress and depression. Well, the truth may be that I preferred not to blog much when I was down.

I have no motive to compose another email to the future me. Does that imply that a good mood normally does not need to be expressed? Does that mean downs, rather than ups, in one’s life, are the major force that makes him write?

It seems rational to say that most of poetry come from sadness, bitterness, or failure; yet not all depressed people can write poems. Some of them just write wills. Fortunately, I was in between, on Thursday, April 3, 2008.

The following is an e-mail from the past, composed on Thursday, April 3, 2008, and sent via FutureMe.org.

Dear FutureMe,

Nice to meet you. When you are reading this email, I am instantly gone somewhere in the space and time and am no longer considered existing.

I am depressed and stressed. So much work, so uncertain my future is. I do not know if I can take it any longer. If you can read this email, that means I did take it on well.

I wish, when you are reading this email, everything is fine.

From another point of view, what happens here telling us that one can finally get through most of the hard time in him/her life and may not even remember what happened, although he/she felt really bad and every problem seemed not able to be solved. BTW, I do agree happiness last shorter. But I think there are a lot of articles recording happiness. What makes that most poems are sad is these poems have higher potential to lead resonance, and hence have higher possibility to be recorded and passed down.
